Lady Gaga Declares Upcoming Release ‘Album of the Decade’

Posted by Chase Jackson On November - 30 - 2010

Lady Gaga, who isn’t an artist known for drawing lots of attention on herself, has uncharacteristically ramped up the expectations of her upcoming album.

During her recent show in Gdsank, Poland, Lady Gaga said to fans, I promise just for you I will give you this decade’s greatest album.  She was preparing the Little Monsters of hers for “Born This Way” to be released.

Lady Gaga’s new album is set to be released in 2011.  It follows “The Fame,” her massive album that defined the artist as her generation’s definitive pop star.  During the show she elaborated further on what her fans could expect.

The album is finished.  It’s f***king really great, Gaga said while onstage.  The new album is much deeper than a f***king meat dress or outfit or lipstick or wig.  What “Born This Way” really is all about is the things keeping us awake at night, the things that make us afraid.

Several high-profile collaborations are featured on the album, including work with old friends like the producer RedOne as well as new ones like the legendary Elton John.

What may also be included is an excess of “f***king sledgehammering” kinds of dance music, according to the outrageous performer.

Putting too much music onto your albums used to be a faux pas, but I feel you guys deserve the records that I do.  I work really hard on them.  Who knows, you may get 20 new songs from Gaga.

Lady Gaga to Sit Down with Anderson Cooper on ’60 Minutes’

Posted by Chase Jackson On November - 23 - 2010

For all those who have wondered when the interview for “60 Minutes” with Anderson Cooper and Lady Gaga will be aired, Cooper has announced it will be in February 2011 at Grammy Awards time.  Cooper revealed also why he so badly wanted to interview Lady Gaga.

The newsman said, I really was interested in meeting Lady Gaga.  Obviously she’s a fascinating person.  With “60 Minutes” what’s great is you get to spent lots of time with the people you are profiling.

Cooper revealed how much time the two spent together.  In early 2011 the singer will be releasing her new album.  Cooper said being able to spend a few weekends with Lady Gaga in different places over several months was really cool.  It’s very interesting.  I’m learning all kinds of things about her that I never knew before.

Photographs along with some grainy footage on YouTube of the two of them filming an October interview, made its way online shortly after the pair was spotted on the Thames River’s South Bank in London chatting.  Gaga was wearing ankle-high platform boots, a lacy bustier, sunglasses and fishnet stockings.  Her long hair was down and loose.

Recently Gaga tweeted that “Born This Way,” her new album, is almost complete.  Her label boss Akon shared that he feels with this album that Lady Gaga really is stepping up the game.

Akon said, if I was to compare the new album to her previous work, definitely I would say it is one notch up.  It is like slowly she is taking you down the road on a journey.  If she drastically did this, probably she would have lost everyone after the first album.  However once her sound was created as well as established, it can be used now as a tool for grabbing all of the monsters and walking them into the graveyard.  It is amazing.  It’s crazy.

Lady Gaga Mulling Buying 60-Room $13 Million Scottish Estate

Posted by Chase Jackson On November - 16 - 2010

Go home or go Gaga!  Avant garde singer Lady Gaga is contemplating moving to Scotland, into a 60 room, lavish $12.9 million estate.

Allegedly the 24 year old performer already has signed contracts on the Yester House, which is located right outside of Edinburgh.  However, as of yet, there are no official records of this.

Born as Stefani Germanotta, Lady Gaga shouldn’t have any problems coming up with the asking price of $12.9 million for the Yester House, 285 acres and all the contents of the house.  In 2009 alone Gaga earned $62 million.

This mega mansion from the 18th century includes 16 bedrooms at least, over 35 fireplaces, formal dining room, two drawing rooms, a music hall on the second floor, billiard room and basement.

The estate also includes such vintage flourishes as a ballroom that is 1300 square feet, a room for arranging flowers, dairy room and gun hall.

The history of the Scottish estate would only be enhanced by Lady Gaga taking up residence there.  Other musicians who have lived at Yester House include the most recent owner Gian Carlo Menotti, composer.  After his death in 2007 Menotti’s family inherited the estate.

Lady Gaga, Blake Lively Top Vogue’s Best Dressed List

Posted by Chase Jackson On November - 16 - 2010

There’s additional evidence that Vogue is become more internet savvy.  The magazine compiled its very own Best Dressed Top 10 list.  Michelle Obama, naturally, was included.

To their credit, the ensembles Vogue selected to highlight for the best dressed women are not favorites in the tried and true tradition.  There aren’t any red carpet Academy Awards shots or street style pics.  For example, the photo of Jessica Biel shows her in a pantsuit.

However, the list is fairly predictable, featuring a who’s who of the regular favorites of Vogue, including Alexa Chung, Carey Mulligan, Marion Cotillard, Sarah Jessica Parker and Michelle Obama.  However, Lady Gaga does make an appearance on the list, which is note worthy.  Anna Wintour apparently has forgiven Gaga for her off-kilter performance during the Costume Institute Gala at the Met.  The spotlight is also shone on some less heralded, however no less worthy mavens of style like Shala Monroque and Liya Kebede.  Blake Lively was also included, which makes us think Leighton Meester must be feeling like Jan compared to Blake’s Marsha.

Of course there were some omissions of note as well.  For example, Diane Kruger, who both off and on the red carpet, continues to be virtually flawless in her wardrobe choices.  Carla Bruni-Sarkozy could have been consider, although of late she’s been more ho-hum, in addition to Charlotte Gainsbourg and Julia Restoin-Roitfeld.  Quite frankly, all of them could have possibly been better candidates instead of Blake Lively.  However that’s just our opinion.

In terms of voting by the public, the current winner quite naturally on Vogue’s best dressed list is Lady Gaga.

Lady Gaga Secures Three MTV Europe Awards

Posted by Chase Jackson On November - 7 - 2010

Although she was not in the building, Lady Gaga managed to still be the show stealer on November 7 at MTV’s 2010 Europe Music Awards.

Lady Gaga wasn’t able to attend due to having a show in Budapest, the latest stop on her “Monster Ball Tour.”  However during her Budapest concert she stopped to accept her awards via satellite live and gave her acceptance speeches with the extravagant looks which have shocked watchers from the red carpet.

The winning streak for Gaga started early that night, with the singer winning the Best Pop award.  She accepted the award during the middle of her show wearing a purple sculptural jacket.  She accepted the Best Female award wearing a black bodysuit, giving her heartfelt speech standing next to a sooty car and sharing a short kiss with a dancer handing her a trophy.

When her “Bad Romance” won Best Song, Gaga really let loose.  She was wearing a plastic, sheer mini dress with X shaped pasties to obscure her nipples and rocking yellow hair.  She accepted her award with show-stopping energy that she has become so well known for.  After she lamented about not being in Madrid in person, she started to belt out “Teeth,” a track from “The Fame: Monster” in a funky version, singing “show your teeth” as she worked moves that were James Brown-esque including a full back bend to the ground.

Eva Longoria, EMA host, even gave a shout-out to Gaga, appearing in a gigantic ham costume that she said had been left behind by the pop singer, which was a reference to the VMA meat dress that Gaga grabbed the headlines with.

On November 7, the 2010 EMA awards show will be airing on MTV2 at 9 pm.  A performance heavy, edited version will air on MTV on Friday at 9 pm.

Sociology of Fame Highlights Lady Gaga in USC Course

Posted by Chase Jackson On November - 2 - 2010

An academic module will be taught about Lady Gaga at the University of South Carolina.

Entitled “Lady Gaga And The Sociology Of The Fame,” Professor Mathieu Deflem will teach the course.  He claims he has seen Lady Gaga perform live a total of 28 times.

Originally Deflem said he was planning to use Lady Gaga only as an example for a course.  However, he decided the singer was worth studying herself.

Deflem in an interview in the Daily Gamecock, the university’s student newspaper said, what the hell.  Why not make the whole course be about Lady Gaga along with her rise to becoming famous.

The course, Deflem added, will be looking at Lady Gaga in terms of a social event.  It’s not just about the music or person.  It’s more of a social phenomenon.  There are 10 million Facebook followers and six million Twitter followers.

Reportedly Deflem owns hundreds of Lady Gaga albums.  He has met her five times.  He once ran into the singer at a Texas airport, where Lady Gaga recognized him.

Deflem’s experience as a professor includes 15 years teaching with specialties in sociology of law, policing and criminology.
