Forbes has released this year’s 100 Most Powerful Celebrities list with Oprah Winfrey, as usual, topping the list.  But the biggest shocker in the list is breakout artist Lady Gaga who makes the list’s and cements her status as the fourth most powerful celebrity in the world.

Beyonce took the second spot while Oscar winning director James Cameron nabbed the third spot, and Tiger Woods, who despite his highly publicized marital issues, completes the top five of the list.  Britney Spears, U2, Sandra Bullock, Johnny Depp and Madonna also make the cut to complete the list’s top 10.

Also named as one the of the most powerful celebs are Twilight’s Robert Pattinson, Kirsten Stewart and author Stephanie Meyer, singers Lil Wayne, The Black Eyed Peas and Akon, late night hosts Conan O’Brien and Chelsea Handler, Kate Hudson, Robert Downey Jr., and today’s highest paid footballer and new baby daddy Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Forbes list is based basically three categories: the media personality’s earnings over the past 12 months, their amount of exposure to the various medium of entertainment such as TV, radio, print and lastly, and this one’s the latest addition to the criteria, amount of online exposure especially among social network sites such as Facebook and Twitter.

Meanwhile, Time Magazine has also released a list of the “Top Celebrity Do-Gooders”, naming the celebrities who are often seen doing charitable activities such as (in random order) Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Oprah Winfrey, Bono, Elton John, George Clooney, the late Danny Thomas and Paul Newman, Jerry Lewis and young actress Hayden Panitierre who makes the list for her effort in saving endangered whales.

Lady Gaga Scores GLADD Award

The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) has awarded Lady Gaga as their Outstanding Music Artist.

The singer, who stirred up controversy with a lesbian kiss during her Telephone video, received the honor during the 21st Awards show for both her music as well as increasing visibility and promoting equality for the LGBT community.

Lady Gaga beat Adam Lambert, her friend and former American Idol contestant, as well as Otep, The Gossip and Brandi Carlile, during the final installment of the GLAAD Awards held in San Francisco.  Earlier this year two ceremonies were held in Los Angeles and New York.

Another big winner was director Lee Daniels for “Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire.”  Daniels revealed he had to overcome some very big issues regarding his sexuality starting at a very young age.

My dad beat me daily because I was gay.  There were bullies after me and I wanted to commit suicide.

Winning the Golden Gate Award was Cybill Shepherd for her Phyllis Kroll portrayal, a lesbian character on The L Word.    Shepherd’s two daughters presented her with her award.

Shepherd said,we stand on our elders’ shoulder.  I would like to thank everybody who has work so hard and made this possible.  I am quite humbled.  I don’t know if I can be even more dedicated to the cause, but I never could thank GLAAD enough for educating me.

Chely Wright, country singer, and Sam Sparro, Australian dancer singer, were also in attendance.  Sparro also performed.

London Fans Less Than Gaga Over Bloody Display

Lady Gaga has been called a monster in the UK after her blood spattered performance that occurred just hours after a taxi driver in Britain killed 12 people.

Daily Mail in London reports that fans and parents protested Lady Gaga’s Manchester concert on Wednesday after her performance of a routine that includes an anonymous killer biting her neck leaving her spattered with blood.

Gaga was wearing a leather corset.  She was then attacked in the routine by a male wearing black, gnawing at her throat and causing blood to splatter over her chest and down into her cleavage.  Gaga then lay in the blood “dying.”

On Wednesday Britain was in a state of shock when Derrick Bird, a taxi driver, went off on a shooting spree in north Lake District.  He killed 12 people before killing himself.  That was the deadliest shooting spree in the region since 1996.

One mother spoke to Daily Mail after she had taken her fourteen year old child to see Lady Gaga’s show.  It’s still quite fresh in our minds what happened.  Given all that violence that occurred just hours before, a pop star should be much more sensitive.  They shouldn’t be featuring murder scenes in their shows.

The bloody routine has been performed several times by the singer on the Monster Ball tour.

Last year during the MTV Video Music Awards, Gaga was doused in fake blood following a chandelier “falling” on her.  She then broke out in song.

On Friday Lady Gaga wraps up the tour’s British leg in Sheffield.
