Lady Gaga Detroit & Chicago Venues Moved Due to Demand

Posted by Janice Bryant On December - 30 - 2009

Lady Gaga will be trading up sizes for some of her upcoming dates of her “Monster Ball Tour.” A few dates are being moved to larger seating capacity venues.

Lady Gaga’s Detroit dates on January 12 and 13 that were originally scheduled to take place at the Fox Theatre, a venue of 5,000 seats, has been moved to Joe Louis Arena. The new venue has a 20,000 seating capacity and is home of the Detroit Red Wings of the NHL. The Chicago dates of January 8-10 had been originally scheduled to be held at Chicago Theatre. Those shows have been moved to Rosemont Theatre. Live Nation, the promoter, has stated that ticket holders of the affected shows need to go back to where they purchased their tickets and buy new tickets in order to secure their seats for the new venues.

The Live Nation website contains more information regarding the Chicago show. General information concerning the changes are also available on the help page at Ticketmaster.

The reason for the move given by Live Nation was the production size. However the promoter didn’t make any further elaborations.

Previously Lady Gaga moved her show on January 3, which had been originally scheduled to take place in Orlando, FL at Hard Rock Live, over to University of Central Florida Arena, a venue with triple the seating capacity.

Last summer the flamboyant singer released her major label album debut “The Fame.” The set peaked in the No. 4 spot on Bilboard’s 200 chart and spawned four hit singles: “LoveGame,” “Paparazzi,” “Poker Face,” and “Just Dance.”

Late last month, an expanded version was re-named “The Fame Monster.” Eight new songs were added.
